2017 Mazda3: Sporty, with great fuel economy

The sporty, fuel-efficient 2017 Mazda3 is one of the best compact cars on the market. Available as a sedan or hatchback, it comes in four trim levels: Sport, Touring, Touring 2.5 and Grand Touring.
The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 155 horsepower. But the Touring 2.5 and Grand Touring models have a 2.5-liter four cylinder that makes 184 horsepower. Both engines offer terrific fuel economy, thanks to Mazda's SkyActiv technology, which enhances efficiency and performance. Fuel economy ranges from about 25-28 mpg city, to 33-37 highway.
The Mazda3 is available with automatic transmission or six-speed manual.
On the exterior, not much has changed appearance-wise for the 2017 model year. The front fascia extends a bit width-wise and the headlights are a bit bigger. But the overall sporty appearance and aggressive stance remains.
The Mazda3 gives you terrific driving dynamics with its G-Vectoring Control, which steadies the braking, turning and acceleration processes. Mazda offers standard safety features such as a backup camera and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The Mazda3 comes with a price tag that starts at around $18,000 and ranges to about $25,000.
For a great compact sedan or hatchback that offers fun driving dynamics, good fuel efficiency and attractive looks, it is hard to beat the Mazda3.
