Noah's Ark: A Haven for All Types of Animals Just South of Atlanta

 


AAE recently visited Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit facility for exotic animals as well as farm animals. The sanctuary also rehabilitates hundreds of animals yearly through its Wildlife Rehabilitation Program. The sanctuary is located at 712 L G Griffin Road, Locust Grove, Ga.

With more than 1,500 animals, the sanctuary encounters high veterinary and food costs. The facility said it costs approximately $33,000 per month to feed and care for the animals. If you wish to donate to the sanctuary, visit the website here

McIntosh Reserve Park: A Tranquil Spot to Enjoy Nature and See History

 

AAE recently visited McIntosh Reserve Park, a Carroll County, Ga., park that is near Whitesburg, about 35 miles south and west of Atlanta. The beautiful park features 527 acres that can be used for horseback riding, hiking and other recreational pursuits. 


The park also features historical markers, such as this building that is a reconstructed version of a tavern that once stood on the property adjacent to the Chattahoochee River. More information here.
